#this scene always gets to me #mainly cause it shows a small glimpse of the old bucky #the bucky who cares so much about steve #and would do anything for him #as shown in the first GIF #he’s so quick to escape #hence why he throws his backpack over to the roof of the building behind them #but then in the second GIF #when the swat member enters the room #instead of fleeing like he had planned on doing #he stays in front of steve and shields him from the bullets #and in return steve moves beside him and protects himself and bucky with his shield #and even though bucky is frightened and confused by the past events that he had been apart of #his first instinct under attack was to protect his lifelong best friend instead of leaving him behind to save himself #this is why I love their relationship so much #they’d risk their lives for each other no matter what the circumstances were #and that in itself speaks volumes
